Picking Your First Tower Defence Game
If you've never played tower defence and want to start, the choice of first game matters a lot. Pick something too hardcore and you'll quit before the fun starts. Pick something too shallow and you'll get bored.
Look for a game with a real tutorial that teaches through play, not text walls. The good ones ease you into towers, upgrades, and enemy types one at a time. You should feel smart, not lectured.
Variety in enemies is a good sign. If everything just walks in a line with more health each wave, the game gets stale. You want flyers, fast runners, armoured units, things that force you to change your setup.
Also check the pacing between waves. Games that give you a breath to plan are far more enjoyable than ones that throw you into constant panic. The planning is the whole appeal.
Start there, get comfortable, and then chase the harder stuff. Tower defence is one of those genres that rewards patience, and the entry point sets the tone for everything after.
