Big Bass Bonanza

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games you open when you want something light. You tap through bright underwater scenes, watch fish drift across the screen, and the whole thing has a calm, unhurried mood. The art is colourful without being loud, and the sound design leans into that lazy afternoon-by-the-lake feeling.

Controls are as simple as it gets: a tap here, a swipe there. There's no steep learning curve, which makes it a decent pick for short breaks. We liked that a single session never overstayed its welcome. You can pick it up for two minutes or twenty and it works either way.

What surprised us was how satisfying the small animations are. The fish react, the water ripples, and the pacing keeps you gently engaged. It won't demand your full attention like a strategy game, and honestly that's the point. It's comfort food for your phone.
